After gathering the clips together and organizing them in order last week, we started editing this week. Zoe was the one who was mainly editing while me and Cayley both reviewed the opener as it was being edited.
Low Angle Shot- It is hard getting in a low enough angle for the subjects face to be in view Medium Shot- Getting the angle for the shot is not easy Full Shot- Is the easiest shot out of the ten to record Eye Level Shot- It is hard to hold the camera steady with this shot Close Shot- One of the easier shots because of the angle for the subject to be shown Close Up- It was hard to get the timing for when the hand would come into frame Choker- It was hard to stay serious during the recording of the choker POV- I almost broke my phone trying to give the idea of a point of view of a ball being kicked Two Shot- It was hard getting at a wide enough angle for both subjects and some background to be included Extreme Close Up- Hard to keep camera still during the close-up
I chose a few camera angles to comment in the 2011 movie "Battle: Los Angeles" because it is one of my favorite action sci-fi film. The movie is about a Marine staff sergeant and his platoon who are deployed to Los Angeles after aliens land off the coast of the city. The movie follows the platoon as they move through the city to discover a way to defeat the aliens. This scene occurs at the beginning of the movie when the aliens have already begun invading Los Angeles. The first camera angle is a top shot, showing the aftermath of the alien's beach landing. The second camera angle is an extreme wide shot of the destruction of Los Angeles. The third camera shot is a bird's eye view of Los Angeles, which is the scene before the platoon actually arrives in Los Angeles. The next scene takes place midway through the movie. In the scene, the platoon is pinned down because of a group of aliens and their cannon. The character in this scene, Lieutenant Martinez, sacrifices him...
