Week 2 of Editing

Image
After gathering the clips together and organizing them in order last week, we started editing this week. Zoe was the one who was mainly editing while me and Cayley both reviewed the opener as it was being edited.

Week 1 of Editing

Image
Here in these pictures above are me and Cayley gathering the clips together that we have recorded. Once we had our clips together we began to verify how they would go together. Additionally during this time, our group had discussed what the title of the movie was going to be. We decided that the title would use bright red colors for the letters.

Continuing to Film

Image
For the second week of filming our opening, we recorded the lab scenes of the flashback of the opener. As you can see in the pictures above, we recorded a scene. One scene is of the antagonist mixing and pouring chemicals on the mask itself. The scene we recorded is to show the double sided nature of our villain, the teacher.

Beginning to Film

Image
This is a picture of the pan shot of the classroom where we show the video that tell students to wear their masks. The pan shot also shows the teacher standing watch over the classroom while the students are watching the video. This picture shows the video itself that the students are watching. We are also playing with the idea of the protagonist having a pov shot of her watching the video.  This picture shows the darkness of the classroom that the students are watching the mask video in. The darkness of the classroom adds an ominous feeling to the shot.

Initial Storyboard

Image
Zoe did the drawings, Cayley brainstormed the types of camera shots used and the title, and I came up with the plot of the opener. 1. The first scene is the close-up of a student's mask having milk being spilled onto it. 2. The second scene is two shot of a teacher giving the student another mask. 3. The camera will cut to the student's house, where she will begin to cough a lot, stumble, and then fall near her bed. These will be shot in medium shots. 4. After the girl stumbles, the camera will cut to a flashback of the teacher for the beginning in a chemistry lab poisoning masks. 5. Then another flashback, a wide shot of classroom, where students are being told to wear their masks, with low key lighting for the scene. 6.  The flashbacks will end with a cut to a close-up of the girl's eye and the title, "Behind The Mask", will appear.
